Halloween is expensive, right!!!?
From costumes for everyone including the dog to spooky props. We all know that the best way to save money is to buy Halloween items afterwards, when its marked over 90 percent off or more! If you are able to do this then you are winning in my spell book. For most of us, this is simply not a task we can achieve, especially those with young ones. We need to have it before, when merchandise is fully stocked and the costume decisions are locked in. With that in mind, I have rounded up ways to save serious cash so you can have a Spooktacular Halloween and your wallet won’t haunt you foreverrrr. Muhahaha.

3. Skip the Costume…Accessorize!
Don’t put so much emphasis on the costume and instead focus on the parts that make up the costume. Sort through clothing that you might already have or thrift stores on the cheap that you can rip holes or paint blood on if need be. You could easily DIY something up yourself. Here’s some past Halloweens ideas I’ve dressed for on the cheap.
Here is the hubby & I dressed as Punk Rock Freaks. We used clothing already on hand & spent just the cost for face painting, clip on piercings, and his red hair paint.
One year we went as Bat Woman & Batman. I could not find a full body image of us in this one (so sorry, guys) but once again clothes already on hand. I wore a black dress already in my closet & he wore black pants and a black dress shirt, leaving us to only have to purchase a black cape and a bat man mask. Hope this helps you get your creative( but frugal) juices flowing.

5. Shop Hollar
Saving more than a dollar can make you holler. I love this little online goody store. You’ll for sure want to check it out, I find unique gifts on there all the time. During the Halloween Season they come out the cutest costumes and they are so affordable for any budget. You can get costumes for everyone for an average of 5 to 10 bucks each! Whether your looking for an infant unicorn costume or that little boy just has to be Captain America! If your willing to take my advice from above and just need accessories they have those as well. Dress that infant in a pink onesie and shop holler for a unicorn headband. Waalah, Halloween mission complete. Also, sign up under my referral link & create an account and you’ll get $2 credited (your first order ships free but must be $10 or more) (offer could change at any time). If you like saving money like me, you’ll love holler, several times they have given me credits or what I like to call free money for purchases!
6. Carters For Wee Ones
If your looking for a costume to dress the little one, Carters has some cute new arrivals you can shop. Just search Halloween in the search bar of their website. Sign up with your email for an extra 20% off your first Carter’s purchase. This coupon excludes clearance but doesn’t say anything about mark down sales 😉
7. Dollar Tree
Check your local dollar tree. I was recently at mine the other day and I was amazed at the variety of costume options available, not to mention good for the pocket book since everything is $1. If anything else you might find plenty of accessories or face makeup to complete your costume on a dollar. Save on big bags of candy while your there!
