How To Decorate A Mirror For Halloween
I love this farmhouse mirror hanging on my kitchen wall but it looks the same all year long, except when the holidays roll around and I dress it up for the occasion. For Halloween this year, it became farmhouse Halloween décor instead!
You can do this very quickly and inexpensively to your mirror as well! You don’t even have to stop with the mirrors, this is prefect way to make every day décor in your house become haunted when October arises and makes her yearly spooky debut. Materials Used To Decorate a Halloween Mirror
So here’s what I used to throw together this haunted mirror diy. I get excited for projects that only require a few materials that don’t cost an arm and a leg.
A large Spider and several small spiders
Spider Web
Farmhouse Cotton Ball Wreath or any wreath you already have
Suction Cup Wreath Hanger (I recommend the heavy duty…the other ones I used don’t stick!)
Double-Sided Tape (You could also use Velcro Dots to stick to the mirror)
Bloody Window Cling
Decorating Halloween Mirror
Most of the Halloween decorations listed above, I found at my local dollar tree. I was able to shop Walmart for the other items. The wreath, as mentioned above, is an everyday farmhouse style décor piece that I hang on my mirror. Although I do change out my wreaths occasionally when I get sick of looking at them at some point. This particular one worked out perfect though, I’m really liking how the cotton balls look like spider nests and go great with the webs. Speaking of spider web nest, If you have extra spiders and extra web, you can also create these Spider Egg Sacs for Halloween from Martha Stewart to really up the spook. These would be perfect to hang from the ceiling making any party guest walk through them! Yikes! For more inspiration, you could do something like this or instead of spiders, bats have been a huge hit lately on both walls and mirrors. Just take a look at the cute bats decoration for Halloween that Domestic Fashionista added to her mirror.
As far as getting the webs to stick to the mirror, I secured a stretched out edge of the web on the sides and top of the mirror with double-sided tape. The Bloody Beware is a window cling that I placed in the middle of my wreath. You can place the creepy crawly spiders right in the web, just make the legs snug so they don’t fall out.
I hope you like my Halloween mirror decorations, and this has inspired you to add some creepiness to yours for the season!
