Looking for Cheap Halloween Decoration Ideas? Fake Spider Webs are among the easiest and cheapest route to adding a creepy appearance to your home. Easy and Cheap is right up my ally. A dark and spooky ally, Oh wait, that’s just the isle in my Halloween store. Here is an idea for how you can decorate for Halloween cheap.

It’s now 2020, the year of COVID and I’m not feeling much up to decorating, I blame pregnancy. My husband says I blame everything on pregnancy but heyyy-It’s the prime time when I can get away with ALL the things…and not feel guilty! This post was originally already on the blog but I think I deleted it by accident (oops, pregnancy brain strikes again) & I could not for the life of me figure out how to recover it back so in honor of Halloween Coming Soon and my lack of motivation, here is last year’s decorating the front of our home, the 2019 addition!

To make it spooooky..
We added spider webbing and draped it across our plants. This was easier with two people. One on each end pulling and stretching in order to get it the way we wanted. Some places of the web were looser than the other in the plants but it caught on good to where we did not have to add anything to make it stay put. If yours does not for some reason, you can always add stakes in the ground to hold it down. Ours held up threw the wind and rain as well, for the time being that it was on there for Halloween. Maybe it was a big help one of our plants is a rose with sticker thorns and not too mention still blooming in October!

I wish I would of known about it at the time, but you could also use Glow in the dark spider webs. It would give it a wow-factor at night, especially for all those trick or treaters who will be gazing at it! Another Idea, If you have a outside porch light or garage light close by where you are putting your Halloween spider webbing, swap it out with a black light to take the glow in the dark webbing up another notch. Anything glow in the dark looks amazing under a black light.

The next thing we added was the black creepy cloth next to the spider web yard decoration. The creepy cloth ran along the sides of our landscaping in front of house. My husband threw a few heavy weighted stakes and used some of our lava rocks to weigh down the material so it would stay. Again, you could also stake it in the ground for worries or high winds. It didn’t give us any trouble.

Creepy cloth does wonders for a haunted house exterior and will compliment your Halloween spider web decorations. You can hang it in all kinds of places outside such as trees, fences, railings, porches, garages, as well as indoors too. Take a Look at a Halloween Chandelier where we used them both!

Of course you can’t finish Halloween decorating without some scary props. We put our spiders as if they were crawling down our cornstalk covered porch pillar. If you choose to add spider webs on your porch, you have a couple options for attaching it depending on what you will be attaching it to. Some different ways of doing so are to use a staple gun or thumbtacks if there is something wood to press to shoot them in.  If you can’t find anything to secure the spider webs down, another alternative you could try is using these Velcro dots with adhesive on the back. They have waterproof sticky glue for holding and the webs should catch onto the Velcro easily.
