Since the month of May is dedicated to venerating our Blessed Mother Mary, today on the blog, I have the perfect May Crowning craft devoted to our lovely Mother Mary.

It’s a super easy activity for the littles ones to do and they can even add their own artistic creativity to it.

Kids and coloring enthusiasts of all ages will absolutely enjoy making this craft. The digital download contains 2 sheets to be printed and involves coloring their Mother Mary printable then coloring the flowers with the attached sheet for a beautiful Mary Crowning activity to honor Our lady.

When they get done coloring, they just cut and glue. After the kids finish crowning her head with flowers, they can showcase their Mother Mary Crowning artwork in their favorite spot in the home so she can be cherished throughout the month of May.

Here lately I’ve been making quite a few Christian tailored printables. My kids love these and it’s a great way to incorporate the faith through a child’s eyes.

Of course, honoring Mary is a big part of the Catholic faith. To honor Mary, means acknowledging her role as the Mother of Jesus, Queen of Heaven and our Mother, Mother of all Christians. Mary’s role in the church is inseparable from her union with Christ and flows directly from it.

Her important role brings to mind one of my favorite scriptures when our good Lord was on the cross. With Mary and John standing there, Jesus says to his mother, “Woman, behold your son!” and he says to the disciple, “Behold, your mother!”.  From that moment, the disciple took her into his own home. John 19:26-27

In the same way, as disciples and followers of Jesus we spiritually take Mary into our home.

Many people honor Mary this month of May with extra rosaries and prayers. However, little ones can’t always sit through extra devotions. To help your children foster a love for Mother Mary, you can start with this simple craft activity!

While May Crowning can take place anytime in May, it is commonly held on or near Mother’s Day. The ceremony has been held in countless parishes, schools and homes throughout the world.

This Virgin Mary Craft is ideal for Sunday School, homeschool activities, or even a quiet faith-based activity at home dedicated to adorning her in flowers.

This printable Mary craft is perfect for Christian educators such as parents, Sunday school teachers looking for meaningful, hands-on activities to reinforce Catholic truths.

Give your precious kids an invaluable craft experience that deepens their faith.

Once downloaded you can print it out. Cardstock paper is recommended.

Have your students or child color the Blessed Virgin Mary printable template. Try to encourage her traditional colors such as her known blue mantle worn over a white or blue tunic (blue symbolizes her role as Queen of Heaven, while the white represents her purity.)

Next, they will color the flowers on the included attached digital file.

They will then use their scissors to cut the flowers out.

Now that the flowers are cut out, they can arrange them and adorn the flowers around her head and glue them down how they would choose.
