Walking in from the garage we have a small mudroom nook area. We recently finished adding board and batten (which I shared a tutorial on) and painted the walls a white paint color called Snowbound to brighten it up.
For our mudroom, we knew we needed a mudroom bench and we wanted to add some hooks over top of the bench to make this space more functional for all things entry related. You know the stuff. Hats, shoes, coats, gloves, bookbags, keys etc. The stuff you want to hide most of the time when not in use. This meant having some storage as well.
Mudroom Bench-To Build Or Buy?
When thinking over the space in which we intended building a bench, I happened to come across this one which checked every. single. box. Several hooks, two storage drawers, bench with cushion. I guess the proper term for something like this is a hall tree but it had everything I was looking for. The price wasn’t too bad either.
I think this small-space solution definitely will help me stay more organized and help feel more clutter-free since it’s a mudroom bench with storage too. I also loved the idea of an instant mudroom versus all the extra time it would of took to build something since we needed something right away for putting it off so long and the board and batten took some of that time up too.

Now I just need to throw some pillows up there on the cushions. How cute would it be decorated for the holidays with some pretty garland? Might just be my new stocking holder at Christmas since we have no mantle.
