Last Updated on August 9, 2026: This wall stickers for kids guide has been updated with new information.
Transforming a child’s room or playroom walls doesn’t require a master’s degree in interior design. If you want a quick affordable, and flexible way to add magic to a room, wall stickers for kids-also known as wall decals-are your new best friend.
Why Choose Wall Stickers for Kids’ Room?
Wall stickers for kids’ spaces have become a favorite for modern parents. Here’s why.
Renter-Friendly & Damage-Free:
High-quality vinyl wall decals peel off cleanly without taking paint with them. They are ideal for rental properties or temporary spaces.
Budget-Friendly Makeovers:
A full wallpaper installation can cost hundreds of dollars. Wall stickers for kids give you a custom-mural look at a fraction of the price.
Grows with Your Child
Kids change their favorite animals, colors, and hobbies constantly. Decals let you swap out an old theme for a new one in minutes.
Mess-Free Installation:
No glue, no brushes, no drying time. You can transform an entire room during a single afternoon nap.
These removeable wall stickers for kids provide a fun an easy way to add interest and color to any kid’s room.
Wall Stickers for Kids: Our Playroom Inspo
I’m sharing our basement playroom walls today. It turned out so bright and colorful and our three kids absolutely love it. I was absolutely amazed how something as simple as wall stickers could transform the overall look of the room.

Playroom Recap
We’ve been spending a lot of time down here in our basement playroom, building an indoor playground platform with a slide, adding a kids rock climbing wall, and also a kids playground safety rail so our high energy toddlers have a space to call their own. (If you would like a full tour of our basement playroom you can check that out!)
This is a look from the slide side.

And another look from the opposite direction, the rock wall side.

Considering Paint Ideas for Playroom
We first patched and sanded a few areas on our wall since we moved our mounted tv to another wall (in order to make this part of the room the kids playground). Then we painted our basement walls with Sherwin Williams Snowbound (a white paint color) and with it being a playroom and all, white was not going to cut it, we wanted to be sure to make as colorful as possible. We considered painting some fun colors and designs on the wall. We have two girls and a boy, so it was ideal to keep the wall colors neutral.
Thats when I came across these rainbow bright modern wall stickers for kids made by Wall dressed up.

Rainbow Wall Stickers Review
These wall stickers for kids were super easy to apply to the wall, and we were able to take them back off and re-adjust with no issues at all. We were glad they were removable and won’t damage the wall. The kids loved helping too!

We were extremely happy with how big the wall stickers came. A lot of wall decals for kids that I was looking at, were super small. It was as if you would need a ton of tiny wall decals, just to make an impact on a room. To do this area we were able to get by with three sheets (possibly two-but we liked them randomly close).

The modern look of these semi circles is quite nice and unique. For more playroom ideas, I’ve linked our latest tutorials and added links to things we used in our own playroom you may have seen here.

Final Thoughts on Wall Stickers for Kids
With minimal effort, while keeping a budget, you can create a fun, easy and memorable bedroom or playroom for your child that they will definitely love spending time in.
