You don’t need a massive budget or an over-extensive trip to a specialty craft store for this activity. You likely already have most of these supplies sitting in your closet right now.
Cozy Fireplace Christmas Template (grab it below)
White Cardstock Paper (for durability)
Crayons, Makers, or Colored Pencils
Craft Paint in Any Color You Would Like the Flame (Red, Yellow, Orange etc…)
Paper Plate
Wet Wipes for Easy Cleanup
Note: We cut ours down a little to fit in our 8×10 photo frame.

Step-By-Step Footprint Keepsake Instructions:
- First grab the Cozy Christmas fireplace template
- Print it out on a single sheet of white cardstock
- Have your kids color the coloring page with either choice of crayons, colored pencils or markers
- Next grab your craft paint and paper plate
- Squirt some paint on the paper plate
- Paint your child’s foot completely and press it close to the logs to create the look of the flame. There you have it, easy footprint Christmas art!
- Add any glitter while the paint is still wet.
- Let it dry completely.
