Hello Friend! Have you been following our Kitchen Projects going on lately? I’m jumping on the blog today to talk about a new kitchen update on our Island! We added some lovely kitchen island corbels.
We got our decorative corbels from my hubby’s stepdad. They were dusty and a mahogany color that did not go with our kitchen AT ALL, Unfortunately I forgot to get a before picture to show you the transformation. Oops. So sorry, guys.
Corbels For Kitchen Island
The hubby and I tossed around the decision of painting them either black or white. Since we did the Shiplap on kitchen island, we were worried the white would get lost in the Shiplap so we chose the black. This is what was used so they would look like our black kitchen cabinets color. This stuff was amazing you guys! (if you have a different cabinet color than me, they’re known for carrying other colors too!)
See my cabinets in the background. PERFECT MATCH!!! Nothing a little cleaning, roughing up with a Scotch Brite and lacquer can’t fix. I took a bunch of photos to show you, however, the lighting in my kitchen wasn’t the best at times. I should also apologize for the mess in the kitchen…we’ve got 99 projects and not one done. 🙂
Here is the kitchen island with corbels! Very modern looking with still a touch of farmhouse.
I’ll be back on here soon sharing the tutorial of our shiplap backsplash and adding some fancy schmancy crown molding using the same trick I used for these kitchen corbels by painting with lacquer to match our dark black cabinets. Thanks for stopping by!
